For 2004, I wish: 1. That the capture of Saddam
Hussein leads to the capture of Bin Laden and the collapse of the world
terrorist network.; 2. That all troops currently
stationed in Iraq return safely home; 3. That we find and destroy the
weapons of mass destruction, the stated reason for going to Iraq and
that if they are not found that we demand accountability from those who
stated these weapons existed; that our European allies forgive us for
unilateral action in Iraq and that we forge a new friendship, benefiting
our allies and our nation; 4. That the President of the United
States redirects his energies from nation building to helping those who
are out of work in our country; 5. That the President of the United
States reexamines his tax cut, and initiates a tax program designed to
help middle America, thereby truly stimulating the economy by enacting
meaningful tax reform, not a tax gimmick designed as a “quick fix”
to gain political popularity; 6. That the President realizes
“that it is the economy stupid” and, thereafter, takes meaningful
action to rebuild our economy, not meaningless action meant to gain him
reelection; 7. That the Democratic candidates
for President stop beating up on one another and start talking about the
real issues facing us in the 2004 election; 8. That the Presidential candidates,
during the 2004 campaign, talk about issues that truly affect every
American, not issues that are poll driven and designed to elect
candidates; 9. That all Americans appreciate the
Constitution of the United States, and the protections given to us under
our system of justice, a system designed to preserve and protect our
rights, not a system designed to take away, and undermine, our rights;
and 10. That all Americans participate in the most important right that they have, exercising their right to vote, a true act of free speech. Happy New Year |
