Seasons in Their Time

A mid winter evening,
mild.
The moon shot light
through the leaf bare trees
shedding black skeletens of limbs
across the lawn.
Illumined darkness.
The ripped earth is brown from the rains.
The aroma of the wet earth is rich and fulfilling

A declaration of season.
More winter ahead.
