(Editor’s note: We received the communication below from a seaman who wanted to brighten the days of his shipmates. We pass it along for anyone who can take the time to send a extra Christmas card. It matters not what you think of the war and the prosecution. These men are in harm’s way and deserve support and to be remembered this time of year.) Steven J. “Mongo” Shiner wrote: The below listed are young American Sailors currently at sea aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt; their nicknames have been substituted for first names (some are a little....interesting). All will be spending the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays at sea fighting the Global War Against Terror. I would greatly appreciate it if you would ask a few of your members to write a note or send a card or package to one or two of these folks. Or, pass the list on to anybody wishing to send a card or letter to a young adult serving in harms way. Most of those listed are just out of high school and away from home for the first time in their lives. I can assure you that it would sure brighten an otherwise routine day at sea. I preceded each name with the rank (ie "AN), then the last name followed by the nickname and of course the first. Please feel free to use any combination of the above listed, the last name must be listed. Thank You and God Bless V/R ADDRESS: AN HANCOCK, "BUDDHA" TIM
