Of course, it’s not really the truth, but it doesn’t matter any more. Whatever he and his disciples say is truth is the only truth now. This is the president who proudly told a biographer that people need to explain things to him if he requests it, but he doesn’t have to explain himself to anyone. He apparently knows he doesn’t work for us; we are there to serve him. The left, the
liberals, the Democrats – by whatever name they choose to keep or
avoid – are now trying to rally the cause; organize; think of next
time. They live in a fantasy world; there is no next time.
It’s over. They’ve won. If ever there was an election to
rid ourselves of the vermin strangling our highest offices, this was it.
The liars and manipulators have rendered our system of government a
dying dinosaur. And America voted to let them continue in power
and in power they will be, and it won’t be pretty. We have a president
who believes the reason for war is to spread freedom and liberty, and no
red flag goes up. A proven deserter allows his supporters to mock
a decorated war veteran by labeling him a liar at worse or a coward who
didn’t bleed enough in battle at best, and the legitimacy of the
argument is accepted. An administration lifts quotations from an
opponent’s speeches, turns the meaning inside out to portray him as
saying the opposite of what he really said, and any raised questioning
hand is slapped down. The Big Lie is in and the list of
infractions is infinite. Methods vilified for controlling a
Teutonic country over a half-century ago are now in vogue.
Plausible deniability is considered clever, not deceitful.
Orwell’s nightmare was off by a mere twenty years. War is
Peace. Up is Down. Black is White, unless we change it back to
Black again. And we never said it was ever White. We have a
government that challenges us to believe them or our lying eyes.
We’ve chosen them. The progressives are
pointing to Goldwater’s massive defeat to Johnson and to the
conservative movement bouncing back with a vengeance as the goal to
model our dreams upon. It won’t work; the time is out of joint.
The American people are stupid, pure and simple. It’s not
completely their fault, but they are stupid. They have been
bludgeoned into stupidity by the most dangerous menace this country has
ever faced – the media. Talk radio and cable news, in particular
Fox News, have set the bar so low that snakes can crawl over. And
that’s exactly what they’re doing. Their swastika verbiage
attacks and warps the truth twenty-four hours a day, unstoppably shaping
the pliant minds of the unknowing. Journalists have become
pundits, multi-millionaires who never question the story but are more
interested in getting it first and twisting and turning it longest.
Whether it’s true or not is not even a consideration. The job of
questioning politicians has virtually disappeared. The spouses of
reporters can work for a campaigning politician and not an eyebrow is
raised. The television commentators can add, subtract or omits
facts from a story as they see fit; in fact, they are encouraged to do
so. Is it any wonder a vice-president can falsely say he never
said there was a connection between two enemies or a president can say
he’d never use this country’s greatest disaster for political gain
and then do exactly that – all with impunity. Will you believe
them or your lying eyes? The media tells you you’re wrong.
They’ll even proudly take you to a place called the Spin Room to have
others tell you what you just saw. The Rush O’Hannitys are never
going to be fair and balanced and the public will believe them because
the attack is unending, merciless and, most importantly, entertaining.
They deny they are part of the problem when in reality, they are the
problem. With deceits as blatant as the administration’s, they
are the primary problem. Because facts will never be heard above this
government’s thunderous media loudspeaker, opposing candidates and
ideas will not survive. We’re now
faith-based, not logically reasoned. Divine providence guides
foreign policy. Gut instinct replaces rational thought. Weak
intellect becomes moral resolve. We have stepped down from the
bully pulpit to be the bully. We have gone from walking softly and
carrying a big stick to talking tough while using the big stick.
We have passed on a class act to elect a class clown. These are neither
conservatives nor Republicans; they are a whole new breed. They
are dangerous people. Their gurus want the government to implode
and be gone. It’s not less government; it’s no government.
The sheer weight of financial deficits will bury this county and render
political structure useless. That is their goal and we will watch
it happen in our lifetime. We are a corporate country, run for and
by corporations. We have a CEO who has failed at every real job he
had but they don’t care. Use us up, make their money and move on
to the next conquest – that is their mission. The environment,
social programs, civil rights, health benefits and all the rest are in
the way of the bottom line. Power is truth. It’s over. All
of you out there who have me on your political sharing-list, take me
off. The battle is useless; I’m done. When the obvious
transparency of lies prevails, I’m not interested anymore. When
organisms with opposing thumbs regress back through millions of years of
evolution to disavow everything good this country has stood for, I
won’t continue. When one political faction who gave the
nation civil rights legislation, Social Security, Medicare, woman’s
voting rights and countless programs to help and comfort the downtrodden
and less-fortunate is told by that same nation they don’t share their
values, I weep at the ignorance. Reality has been voted off the
island. The apocalypse is upon us. And his truth goes
marching on ….
