DOING IT THE OLD-FASHIONED WAY

Gallup reports that Bush and Kerry are dead-even on Election eve, which is appropriately also All Souls Day. The soul of America is at stake in this election. Each nominee has 49% of likely registered voters, according to Gallup, leaving only 2 percent in play. Ralph Nader claims 1%. The other 1% is claimed by Libertarians. Many think that Nader hurts Democrats, while Libertarians claim their votes from Republicans. But neither of these minor alternatives will be crucial.

Fraudulent voters will make the difference this year. That is the biggest change from 2000. It is a lesson learned well by Democrats, who perfected this technique in the days of Tammany Hall, and used it in Richard Daley’s Chicago to elect John Kennedy in 1960. Here’s the latest round-up of efforts by Democrats to destroy the fragile fabric of the Republic:

In Ohio, some counties now have more voters registered than they have 18 and over population. Many new "voters" don't have addresses. State voter-registration rolls contain more than 120,000 duplicate names, and an untold number of ineligible voters, such as people who have moved out of the state.

In Michigan, Democrats have sued to force "provisional" ballots that are cast in the wrong precinct to be counted, then delayed the suit for months and attempted to have it Okayed by friendly judges at the last minute. Other than fraud or double voting, what could be the purpose?

In Florida, election officials found 46,000 state residents also registered to vote in New York. The overwhelming numbers of double registrations were Democratic.

In Pennsylvania, Democrat Gov. Ed Rendell and the former Kerry campaign official he just put in charge of monitoring the state's election are seeking to disqualify 16,000 military voters.

In Alabama, counties have a big backlog of last-minute registrations that were brought in by non-state organizations. Discrepancies have left officials uncertain of actual voters. The director of the office of voter registration resigned after she couldn't explain the discrepancies.

In Nevada, litigants funded by Democrats went to court to re-open voter registration when it looked like there weren't enough new Democrat voters registering.

In Illinois, members of the military received absentee ballots that failed to even LIST George W. Bush and Dick Cheney!

The Democrats have gone to their roots to steal this one, doing it the old-fashioned way. To provide a smokescreen cover for the theft, they will be feigning outrage over ‘disenfranchisement’ (of minority voters, of course), and masking their crime by engaging teams of trial lawyers to file lawsuits challenging voter exclusions.

Many have already been filed, some even protesting the exclusion of felons from voting. This will be an effective ploy, particularly in states where the Democrats have control of the election machinery and also have ready access to pliable politicos serving behind another cloak, the black judicial robe. Where’s Dan Rather when we need him?
